5 Cards 1 Kit- Hero Arts July 2019 Card Kit+ GIVEAWAY

Hey crafty friends, welcome to my first ever Youtube blog post! Today I'm showcasing 6 cards that I created using the July 2019 Hero Arts card kit. I used the stamps, dies, inks and papers that came in the kit to create 6 beautiful lake scene cards!

Card One:

Card one was created using the landscape stamps that came in this month's kit. I inked up the mountains and the trees with the Hero Arts dye inks that came in the kit, and then stamped the images on both my center panel and my die cut frame. I forgot to mention in the video, but I did add the blue pearl embossing powder over my mountains as snow-caps. It's a very subtle look, but I like the result. I created the lake on this card using some Salty Ocean Distress oxide ink. On my frame, I decided to add a brown dock and a few grasses/cattails tucked behind the dock. These images were stamped with the inks that came in the kit onto some green and kraft colored card-stock. To finish the scene, I added my sentiment "Life is better at the lake" with some black ink directly over my ink blended lake. After that, I adhered my ink blended panel onto my heavy weight 110 pound Nina white card-base. I added some acetate behind my frame and popped it up onto the card using some foam tape. Lastly, I added the two jumping kids that came in the stamp-set and a few brown birds!

Card Two:

This beauty was made with the landscape stamps and some black and white ink! It wasn't intended, but the unicorn white pigment ink added an interesting "fog" aspect to this scene. I'm very happy with how it turned out! I definitely channeled my inner "Bob Ross" when I added the cattails to the "forefront" of this scene. To further accentuate, the misty fog on this card, I decided to add some more white ink using a finger dobber and pouncing the ink over my black tress. I decided to stamp my sentiment "wish you were here" using some black ink onto a die cut white oval. I layered a black oval behind the sentiment to help it stand out against my card-base. I also decided to pop up my black and white scene onto a black matte using some foam tape. After I attached my sentiment onto the grey panel I adhered everything onto my dry-wood-grain-embossed card panel.

Card Three:

This gorgeous night-time lake scene was created with the landscape images that came in the stamp-set and a few colors of distress ink! I created the reflection on the lake by stamping the trees and mountains with the second generation stamped image. I made sure to stamp these images backwards to achieve the perfect reflection! I also used a circle punch from my stash as a mask for my moon in the landscape and the reflection. The sky and the lake were both created with various dark blue distress inks. I added some white embossing powder over my mountains to be sure that they shined in the moonlight. Additionally, I added white heat embossed water ripples into my lake to add some highlights to the water. My sentiment was stamped and embossed with white embossing powder onto a small black rectangle.

Card Four:

Card four features the fisherman with his puppy! At this point in the card making process, I felt it was easier for me to stamp and die cut a bunch of images before creating my last few cards. This is faster for me as I can pick and choose my die cuts to add onto my cards! That is exactly what I did for this card. After ink blending my lake and sky with various distress inks, I arranged my die cuts into a scene that I liked. I made sure to add my fisherman to the center of my lake. I used the other stamped images such as the cute ducks to accent him. I added a cluster of grasses/cattails to the left bottom corner of the scene. Instead of adding my mountains and tress across the whole panel of this card, I thought it would be nice to look like a far away island instead. To complete the scene, I stamped a green Nessy towards the top of my lake! I popped up my ink blended scene onto a black matte and adhered the matte using some ATG tape onto the green card-base provided in the kit. I also added a few red fishing rods to the top and bottom of my card-base just to add something different to this card!

Card Five

This card is probably the most simple of all of the cards I created today. I started this card by die cutting my burlap banner. I also die cut a stitched square die and a smaller banner die for my sentiment. I created my square scene using some more distress inks and a few die cut land-scape images and another fisherman on his boat. For this fisherman, I decided to give him a small fish at the end of his fishing pole. I adhered my mountains/trees and popped up my fisherman with some foam tape. To finish the scene, I stamped some water ripples onto my lake and added a few flying birds with some black ink. To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment "It's your birthday...relax and enjoy!" onto my white die cut banner. I think this could be an awesome Father's Day card! I think the burlap really added to the fishing theme of this card. This is definitely one of my favorite cards that I created!

BONUS CARD

I had a few left overs, so of course I had to make one more card using this kit. This scene is very similar to the past cards made. The only thing I did a differently with this card was layer some white trees behind my green trees to make them look snowy. I also used a different distress oxide combination for my sky and lake. Like the first card, I added a brown dock to the bottom of the scene along with a few cattails tucked beneath the wooden dock. The dock and the mountain-scape were both popped up with some foam tape to give this card some dimension. I love the serene look of this card and the symmetry. To me it's "aesthetically" pleasing to look at haha. Let me know what you think! Which card is your favorite?

My favorite card was the night scene with the reflection and moon. And I think this set is great because my family has owned a cabin on a lake for over 65 years, and this reminds me of good times there. I know my family would agree. Congratulations on your new web site. I wish you a lot of luck.

I love all of your cards but the moiuntains and lake sunset is gorgeous. I wanted this set so badly, mostly for the stamps and dies, but it had already sold out.
