Hug in a Mug Collection & Inspiration

Our new Hug in a mug collection is officially LIVE! We have loads of new products including three 6x8 stamp sets, eight stand alone dies and two pop up dies!
Our pop up die sets in this release are oh so "sweet". One die allows you to create heart shaped chocolate boxes and the other one allows you to create A7 sized pop up mug cards that can fold completely flat!
Today, I'm sharing the chocolate boxes and mug cards I made using some of the new goodies from the latest release. I hope these give you all some inspiration! Let me know which design is your favorite!
We have some bundle prices happening the first week of our release only. All of our pop up die bundles are marked down 10% until Sunday, January 23rd at 11:59 PM EST. On Monday, they will be reduced to 5%!

Card One

I will have a video tutorial on how to make these pop up mug cards on the Scrappy Tails Youtube channel very soon!

This first design features some of last year's die sets along with our new "A7 Pop up Mug" die set. I used some pattern paper for the base of the mug and plate. I love the matching look!

The roses inside this mug were made using our "Outline Roses" die set. To add dimension to my roses, I ink blended some pink ink to the centers of each one.

The leaves and the baby's breath inside the bouquet are both from the "Assorted Leaves" die set. The I love you comes in the new "Valentine Mug Add-on" die set.

I think the pink and the red color scheme makes for a lovely Valentine card. However, you can swap the roses out for daisies to create a get well soon card!

Here's a look at the card folded completely flat. These mug cards will fit inside an A7 envelope!

Box One

My first chocolate box was made using the new "Heart Shaped Chocolate Box" die set. This set includes everything you need to construct the box.

Here's a peak at the inside of my box. The grid is included in the "Heart Shaped Chocolate Box" die set, so it really looks like a real box of treats!

Inside, you can add real sweets, or if you're on a diet, paper sweets! In my box, I added some truffles that I paper pieced using our new "Chocolate Truffles" die set.

The truffles are so cute and easy to make. There's 9 total chocolates in the set. Each one only has three layers, so they're great to mass produce. I used lots of foam dots to help them "pop" off the grid.

The front of my box features some copic colored images from last year's "Sweet Bear" 4x6 stamp set. Isn't this bear so cute?! He's perfect to adorn both our new chocolate box and our A7 mug pop up!

The scalloped hearts behind him were die cut from our new "Scalloped Hearts" die set. These hearts coordinate perfectly with our chocolate box.

Card Two

 Box Two

A fun idea for our chocolate box is to die cut a see through window from the top base of the box, so you can see what's inside! In this case, I die cut a scalloped heart from the center and added acetate behind the opening.

I decorated the front of my box with a think dark pink heart frame I made using the two heart dies that are included in the "Heart Shaped Chocolate Box" die set.

I also added a dark pink bow from the same die set. To give the bow dimension, I added two white die cuts behind.

Again, I added some die cut chocolate truffles inside my box. I love how they peak through the front of the box!

Card Three

My third mug features our new "Valentine Mug Add-on" die set. We plan to release some other holiday inspired add-ons later this year!

Included in the add on set is the spoon, the doily, heart steam, stirrers, swirl steam and the "Be my Valentine" word dies.

The center heart was die cut from our new "Intricate Lace Heart" die set.

I love die cutting my mugs from pattern paper!

I think the top part of this mug turned out so cute! I glued a few smaller steam pieces directly to the front of the mug for added dimension.

Box Three

This box might be my favorite, it is so beautiful! Again, I used our "Outline Roses" die set to decorate the front of my box. I think red roses screams Valentine's day!

To accent the roses, I added some baby's breath and leaves. Both dies come in our "Assorted Leaves" die set.

To add some slight interest, I added a kraft scalloped heart and a cream dotted heart to the base of my top lid.

Can you tell I can get enough of these die cut truffles?! They're so fun to paper piece and layer up with foam tape. For these chocolates, I added vellum wrappers for a different look.
