Assorted Christmas Leaves Blog/Video Hop!
Video Tutorial
Card One
My two cards today are super traditional. I incorporated pattern papers on both of them to help accent my assorted Christmas leaves. For card one, I started by die cutting my berry sprig from dark green card stock. Instead of cutting all of my berries from red card stock, I decided to glue pink and red pearls on to the berry areas. To add dimension behind my sprig, I added two layers of heavy weight white die cuts behind my green one.
The sentiment also has two layers of heavy weight card stock behind. The sentiment was gold heat embossed on the same dark green card stock. This sentiment is from the "Cardinal Blessings" 6x6 stamp set. I used the coordinating die to cut it out.
After adding my sprig to the plaid patterned background, I realized it wasn't standing out enough, even with the added dimension. To help my berry sprig pop more, I die cut a cream oval to back behind it. To tie in some more cream, I decided to cover my card base with the same cream card stock.
Finally, I accented the card with a few more pink and red pearls.
Card Two
I'm slowly coming on board the mini slimline train with this beautiful card design.
I started by hot foiling my sentiment in gold on cream card stock. This sentiment is one of three that's included in the "Merry Christmas Hot Foil Sentiments". I love that this set also includes coordinating dies so theres no need to foil perfectly straight!
To the bottom left of the sentiment, I added a cluster of Christmas greenery, which I die cut from kraft and gold mirror card stock. In the center of my cluster, I added a cardinal from the "Cardinal Blessings" 6x6 stamp set. I loved using the pearls as berries on my first card, so I decided to do that again on card two.
To balance the design, I decided to add a smaller cluster of leaves to the top right of the sentiment.

Theses cards are right up my Christmas card color palette alley, lol. Beautiful.
These dies are terrific! Thanks for the video. Smart move to add the cream cardstock – it made the visual impact much more powerful.
Your cards and video are AMAZING Sabrina! Just such elegant designs! I LOVE the sentiment! Beautiful branches and THANK YOU for a great inspirational hop!
Heavens! Those pearls on your first card were a true labor of love, weren’t they? The card is spectacular looking. The second card is also pretty. I also have mixed feelings about mini-slimline cards, but love how you finished all the elements on it. Thanks!
Such beautiful cards! I may be. Little biased! But seriously I love this release!
