Christmas Tree Mini Slimline Card

Hello, friends! I hope you all had a spooctacular Halloween!! I'm super excited to be guest designing for Scrappy Tails Crafts this month, and today I have a card to share with you using some new goodies from their latest Snow Globe Flurries Release. Although this Slimline Christmas Tree is an add-on for the Snow Globe Pop-up Die Set, it's also perfectly sized to make a beautiful mini slimline card!

I began with die-cutting all of the dies that come in the Slimline Christmas Tree add-on. I die-cut the top detailed layer from green cardstock and blended some Rustic Wildness Distress Oxide Ink onto the edges. The solid tree shape was cut from red glitter card stock, which I adhered behind the green layer. I die-cut the top layer once more from gold glitter card stock, then inlaid the garland into the negative areas on the tree. I also trimmed off the gold star and added it to the top of my tree. The gifts were die-cut from red card stock and the bows from gold glitter paper.

For the background, I began with a 3.5 x 6.5 panel of blue cardstock. I blended on Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks around the edges. I trimmed a snow bank from white glitter cardstock and adhered it to the bottom of the background panel. The gifts were adhered under the tree, then I splattered the entire panel with lots of diluted white gouache. Lastly, I white heat embossed the sentiment from the Russian Winter Village Stamp Set onto red cardstock, fussy cut it out, then popped it up with foam adhesive.

I really love how this card turned out!! Be sure to check out the rest of the newest release from Scrappy Tails Crafts!! The pop-up die sets are so innovative and unique.
