Layered Cockatoo

 Hi everyone!
Today I am sharing a super fun card I made using the brand new release from Scrappy Tails Crafts! It's an AMAZING one, and it's called Tropical Bliss
I had a hard time deciding what to use for today's card, but I ended up picking the Layered Cockatoo die set, since I used to have a cockatoo back home. He was best friends with my dog, they would nap together on the couch while I was in school!

I paired him up with the Tropical Leaves die set and Tropical Birds 6x8 stamp set for the sentiment.
To make the card, I cut and paper pieced all of the pieces for the cockatoo from gray, yellow, and orange card stock. I also die cut the branch from brown card stock. I die cut the leaves from two different shades of green.

Once the bird was fully assembled, I tucked a bunch of leaves behind the bird and on his branch. TIP: to keep your die cuts in place to move onto your card panel, pick them up with Press'n'seal. Once stuck on the Press'n'seal, you can flip it over and add your liquid glue to the die cuts and adhere them to the card stock. Once the glue was dry, I went and trimmed off the excess of the leaves that were overhanging the card panel.
To the left of my cockatoo, I stamped a sentiment from the "Tropical Birds" 6x8 stamp set with a crisp black ink.
To finish off the card, I adhered it to a dark gray note card.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have an amazing day!
