Monarch Butterflies & Pigment Sprays

Hello crafters! Joy here today sharing a beautiful card featuring multiple butterfly dies from Scrappy Tails Crafts. I have not seen prettier butterflies than this. Scrappy Tails carries many butterflies dies that are flying, open winged, and sitting. You can't ask for a better selection and they cut like butter!!! Let's take a look....
Creating this card was fun and actually pretty easy. I started out by spraying a panel of Canson XL Bristol Smooth cardstock with orange, yellow and red pigment spray and allowed it to air dry. I will die cut my outline butterflies from this panel later. I did the same for the background as well, using a blue and teal color. I saturated the panel with water first to achieve the smooth, dreamy sky look.
Once the red/orange/yellow panel was completely dry, I die-cut all 6 of the detailed butterfly outline dies from the 3 Butterfly sets, and repeated the process with the black solid layer. The butterflies include a shadow layer, which is great for backing their beautiful wings!

Using a bone folder, I curled the wings so that they would pop up. Then, I applied a few drops of glue to the butterfly bodies and adhered them to the black layers. I laid out my scene to figure out how many butterflies could fit while still allowing for a sentiment. I stamped the sentiment from a 4x6 stamp set by Scrappy Tails called Mama Birds. I heat embossed it to add a little shine to my project!
Finally, I matted the blue panel on some black and orange card stock to add a beautiful frame. I also scattered a few orange enamel dots around the panel.
Well, That wraps it up for me!
