Nutcracker Ballet Card
Hi Friends, Olga here, back with my second card design as a Scrappy Tails Crafts guest designer. For today's card, I used the gorgeous Nutcracker Ballet 6x8 stamp set.
As you may know, it was the famous Russian composer Tchaikovsky who wrote his 71 compositions - "The Nutcracker" ballet. So this is another special theme for me as I am from Russia.
I decided to create a magical atmosphere to try and encompass the fairytale ballet for my card design.
First, I created a simple ink blended background using some red and yellow inks.
Next, I used the Sheet Music Layering Stencils. I started by blending through the first layer (the lines of the sheet music). Then, I blended the second layer (the music notes). For both layers I used a palette knife and applied white embossing paste through them. To make the paste shimmer, I sprinkled some fine glitter on top. In order for the glitter to stick on top of the paste, it is important to add it before the paste completely dries.
Next, I stamped some of the beautiful images from the "Nutcracker Ballet" stamp set in a black hybrid ink. I colored them with my alcohol markers and cut them out with scissors. (coordinating dies are available here).
I also stamped a sentiment to the bottom of the card.
Finally, I arranged and glued all of my die cut images to create a Nutcracker Ballet scene.
That's my card today! I hope you all like it. Be sure to visit the Scrappy Tails blog, where you will find a lot more inspiration using these same products!
