Man's Best Friend Card
Hey friends! How are you today? I am back with a fun project for Scrappy Tails Crafts and I’m using one of my favorite mediums, that I sort of neglected, alcohol inks! I think you’re going to love this die cut rainbow alcohol inked card!
Video Tutorial
When purchasing my crafting supplies, I like to think of at least five different ways to use them before committing to buying them. You will see that I am using products across the Scrappy Tails releases over the last year, and of course my alcohol inks that have been in hiding for a few years.
I decided to create my background first, I have to admit it was inspired by a fellow team member’s project (Kristina Hein). I used the Tim Holtz alcohol inks in the colors: Watermelon, Sunshine Yellow, Limeade, and Aquamarine on YUPO paper. I attempted to create a diagonal flow of colors with them, but ultimately the inks had a mind of their own!
While the panel dried, I die cut the Labrador dog from the Garden Stand Animals die set 3 times so that I could stack them for a dimensional effect. Once the background was dry, I cut it out with the Scalloped Heart Add-on die set.
Using the Fairy Sentiments set released last year, I pieced together a perfect perfect saying for my card! I heat embossed one in white powder and the other was stamped in black and embossed in a clear powder. I die cut both with a banner die in my stash. I love how the sentiments balance one another perfectly.
Once all of my elements were die cut, I arranged them onto a black panel cut to
4 x 5.25'. Then, I adhered the panel onto a white top folding card base.
That finishes my card today! Thanks for stopping by.
