Stitching on dies

Stitching on dies

Hello Friends, I hope your day is great! Today I want to share with you a card I created using a die in a different way than what it was meant for.  I love finding new ways to use the dies I already own.
For today's card, I used a technique I am currently obsessed with, Stitching on cards.  Even though the flower die included in the Slimline Fairy House Add on die was not intended for stitching, I managed to add some simple stitching holes to it to give it a new look, let me share with you how I did it!
I first die cut the flower piece in two colors, white and brown.
Using a pokey tool, I added three holes in the center of each petal. I stitched through the holes with a yellow Embroidery Floss.
Then, I inked the stitched flower with Mustard Seed Distress  Oxide ink and adhered the flower center. I went around the edges of the center with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink for added dimension.
For the card base, I used kraft card stock.  I created a focal point in the upper part of the card base with a white card stock strip. For another pop of yellow, I added thin yellow strips above and below the white piece.
Then, I adhered the stitched flowers and some leaves from the Assorted Leaves Metal Dies I also stamped a sentiment and added some gems around my flowers.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you give this idea a try!  Have a wonderful day!
