Toad-ally Awesome Shadow Box Card
Hello Scrappy Tails Crafters! Joy here with a fabulous shadow box card to share using the Fairy Botanicals stamp set! Can you say love? Oh my goodness this is only the first project I have to share from the Midsummer Night’s Dream release! I placed my original design team order, and then once I saw the products, I went back and ordered the rest of the release! Seriously this is the most creative release I have seen so far and the products are so innovative!
To make this card, I searched up a Jennifer McGuire Video to make sure I was making this version of a shadow box card correctly. And yay! I remembered how to make it. To create this card, all you have to do is add 2 inches to the width to any standard size card you want to make. You score at 1/2 and 1 inch on both sides and on both pieces of card stock. (You'll need two panels to create this card). This one measures approximately 7.5 x 4.25" for an A2 sized card. On top of one layer, I traced the A2 cloud cover plate onto the middle section so that I could retro fit a rectangle die in it for the opening. I then cut the A2 cloud cover plate and glued it over the frame.
To create my scene, I started out by stamping the images from Fairy Botanicals and colored them in with Copics. I also die cut the grass and tiny mushrooms from the Slimline Everyday Borders II die set. Before adhering all of the elements, I quickly blended some clouds onto my back panel with a stencil from my stash and light blue distress ink. I then creatively stacked the grasses to make three layers. The very front layer with the mushrooms are glued to the inside of the front panel. After assembling the card, I stamped and die cut the Magical sentiment from the Fairy Sentiments and Coordinating Die Bundle.
