Tropical Hibiscus Card
Hello, fellow card makers & crafters!!
Summer is here in the Midwest & we are definitely feeling the heat!! I usually add a couple of hibiscus plants around the pool every summer!! I love the tropical vibe, so I knew that I HAD to have the Layered Hibiscus Die Set from Scrappy Tails Crafts when I saw it!!
I began by die-cutting the beautiful blooms that are in the Layered Hibiscus Die Set from pink and two colors of yellow card stock. I added some shading to the centers and the stamens with a darker pink Copic marker. Then, I layered and adhered the pieces together. As a finishing touch, I added small dots to the stamens using a yellow gel pen.
All of the leaves were die-cut from dark teal and two colors of green card stock using the Tropical Leaves Die Set. The sentiment was cut from dark yellow and bright pink card stock with the “Aloha” die included in the A7 Aloha Tropical Leaves Cover Plate.
The background was created by ink blending Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink through the Aztec 6x6 Stencil onto an A7 white card stock panel. After arranging and gluing my flowers on top, I added the panel onto an A7 card base.
I really love this color combo!! These die sets combine to create the perfect tropical, summer card!! Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you soon!!
