Product Description:

No collection can be complete without at least one or two new cover plates. You ask us every time we meet you at the consumer shows and we continue to listen and deliver - you wanted more A7 card supplies, especially cover plates that can be used for quick and easy card backgrounds. Voila…. Here we are with an amazing cover plate that depicts a beautiful bamboo pattern, complete with little matching bamboo fronts/bamboo leaves. It’s a good sized sturdy plate and it cuts a very cool bamboo pattern that instantly transforms your plain background into a jived up one. Consider to double or triple cut your image in order to thicken up the pattern for a more realistic look. Use your favorite ink or coloring medium, like alcohol markers in a color shade that is complimentary of your chosen cardstock and create little grooves and lines along the outer edge of each of the bamboo stems to create a more dimensional/rounded look that pops off the page. Consider to use just individual stems, maybe cut them shorter and let them pop up - to create more of a bamboo forest look by creating multiple rows of bamboo stems behind each other. So many ideas, definitely keep an eye on our social media to see what you can do with this cover plate. Don’t have the right pattern paper or can not find a paper in the right color pallet, consider to create your own custom background papers, which can be done quick and easy, by using the die to emboss into cardstock/ paper rather than cutting out the image. That way you can take this cover plate die to the next level to create texture and dimension on your project.

As you know we love A7 cards, too- they are our favorites! (the A7 size is 5X7 inches and substantially larger than the more commonly crafted notecard size, which is called A2 size and only measures 4 1/4X5 1/2.) We love the extra real estate on the card, because you can write longer messages and of course you can use more dies to decorate. Our A7 sized cover plates are also popular due to many Scrappy Tails Crafters owning and loving our famous “A7 book pop up” and of course these cover plates make for great book covers. The A7 cover plates have recently stepped up to a second important task in the Scrappy Tails Crafters arsenal since they can also be used as the backdrop in our belly band sized trifolds!! This bamboo cover plate would look fabulous in any trifold card - as a backdrop center or even as a teaser on the front of the card or cut up into individual stems on the trifold pull down centers as well.

We will be sharing technique tutorials and many beautiful interactive pop up cards, tunnel shadow box cards and other gorgeous 3D card design samples on our YouTube channel and our design team is also ready to create some fabulous tunnel pop ups, trifolds and other interactive cards this year- so please keep your eye open on our social media and on our “Scrappy Tails Crafters” Facebook fan page.

Directions for metal craft die use:

  1. Gently remove the metal craft die from it’s packaging
  2. Using your favorite die-cutting machine, lay a piece of strong card-stock facing the sharp edges of the die and run the required “plate sandwich” through your machine (please note that different machines use different die-cutting sandwiches)
  3. These dies are thin steel dies and they work in most available manual and automatic die cutting machines, such as your Vagabond, Cuttlebug, Gemini, Gemini junior, Spellbinder’s Platinum, Big Kick, Big Shot etc.
  4. Dies work on different thin materials, including paper, cardstock, specialty foiled or glitter papers
  5. Share your beautiful projects with us at #scrappytailscrafts
