Scrappy Tails Crafts is excited to announce our newest pop up card design, the A7 Trifold Pop Up Card Base Metal Craft Die. This base die is needed for all of the “Trifold Christmas” card designs, as the center fold out is ONlY included in this base die here.

This amazing card base combines the much beloved trifold card base with a special fold out pop up bridge design, that folds downwards as your recipient opens the left and right wing of the trifold card. This base has an oval/ dome shaped top that invites you to decorate to your hearts content. The fold out design includes three semi hidden bridges that allow you to pop up images big and small. Those images stand up on the centerfold of the card and make this a full and bold card design, that is sure to become part of your recipient’s home decor. Imagine, gifting one of these works of art to someone living in a nursing home to display on a nightstand of their bedroom. This is one of our easier pop up designs and lends itself to beginner pop up card makers. You can also build the fold outs into your scrapbook albums.

The cards are very generously sized and will fit a standard US A7 sized envelope, which is usually 5x7 inches in size. These cards will be very dimensional and were designed to accommodate the additional thickness created by the pop up design. We strongly recommend to mail your projects and cards in a secure bubble mailer, marked as “fragile” to hopefully bypass the post offices “evil” metering devices that like to smoosh three dimensional cards.

We include a layering piece, not just one, but two folding trifold panels for faster die cutting, two large and one short pop up bridge as well as the pop up fold out die, and a mini bridge to connect images in front of each other. Also included is a beautiful sentiment with its matching shadow layer, which is a pretty sentiment for a “just because”, “friendship”, “thinking of you” or “saying hello” card. The sentiment reads “sending you warm hugs and all my love today”.

We have many add-on pieces for this pop up card in our “Trifold Christmas” collection, but of course you can also use stamps, dies, and/or other images/ photos etc that are are already in your stash.

Directions for metal craft die use:

1. Gently remove the metal craft die from it’s packaging
2. Using your favorite die-cutting machine, lay a piece of strong card-stock facing the sharp edges of the die and run the required “plate sandwich” through your machine (please note that different machines use different die-cutting sandwiches)
3. These dies are thin steel dies and they work in most available manual and automatic die cutting machines, such as your Vagabond, Cuttlebug, Gemini, Gemini junior, Spellbinder’s Platinum, Big Kick, Big Shot etc.
4. Dies work on different thin materials, including paper, cardstock, specialty foiled or glitter papers
