Scrappy Tails Flower Shop Collection

Now Available!

Our new "Flower Shop" collection has arrived! Shop all of our new Spring themed stamps and dies from this latest release now!
The inspiration behind this collection comes from Seattle's Pike Place Market. I wanted to bring the gorgeous array of flower stands from the market to life on a card. Seattle is also the birth place of Starbucks, so I included a bit of a coffee theme as well!

Slimline Flower Stand Pop up Die Set

The first pop up die set in our latest collection is called the "Slimline Flower Stand Pop up" die set. This die allows you to create gorgeous tiered outdoor stands in a slimline or mini slimline size. The set includes an awning, banners, windows, and scored "walls".

To see how these cards are made, check out my video tutorial above.

As you can see, this die set allows you to create a full sized slimline or mini slimline sized pop up card. At the top, is a cute stand equipped with an awning scalloped roof and an area to add your sentiment.

The die set also includes the scored "walls" to create the stand itself and the "tiered" dimension to the bottom half of the card. Depending on how many walls you add, the pop up will either fold downwards flat, or to the side flat. Either way, these cards will fit inside a standard 4x9 sized slimline envelope.

After constructing my card base using the new "Slimline Flower Stand Pop up" die set, I decorated the card with various Scrappy Tails dies.

The bottom tier features a fence and grass die cut from the new "Garden Stand Flowers" die set. I also cut a grass edge on the coordinating rectangle. This meant I had to slightly trim the "walls" down so they wouldn't peak through the grass (see my video).

I also added a bunny from the new "Garden Animals" die set and a lavender pot from the new "Potted Flowers" die set.

The middle tier features some pink flower bushes and another sitting bunny.

TIP: Use a black fine liner to outline the bunnies noses and eyes to help them stand out.

The top half of this card features our new "Garden Gate" die set. This set includes the ivy leaves and flowers growing up the pillars. On either side, I added some purple florals. To the back wall, I added some more bunched purple florals and a yellow butterfly all from the "Potted Flowers" die set.

On my pink awning, I added a black die cut banner with a white heat embossed "Happy Easter" sentiment. Beside it, I added another yellow butterfly.

Trim your base pieces down to create mini slimline pop up stands! My card is roughly 3.5x6.5'. However, the windows add another 0.5' to the width of the card. This one I will have to hand deliver since the bench and cat are preventing the windows from closing inwards. Just know that you can move the bench down more so that the windows can completely close, and the card can be mailed.

Because I went with a smaller card base, I only created two tiers instead of three. I opted to eliminate the middle tier.

The bottom of this card was decorated with the puppies from the "Garden Animals" die set. I paper pieced them to make them resemble a beagle and a corgi. Behind them, I added some grass, more purple florals and a purple and yellow hydrangea.

Like my first card, I die cut a grass edge on the coordinating rectangle. Then, I added a white bench, that has a cat sitting on it pawing the flowers on the windows.

The top half of this card features the flower stand windows included in the "Slimline Flower Stand Pop up" die set. The window die includes a scoreline to allow your recipient to open and close them. In this case, my windows will stay permanently open. I accented each of them with vellum and an ivy sprig decorated with yellow florals.

On the back wall, I added some more purple florals and a yellow butterfly.

On my pink awning, I added another black banner with a white heat embossed "Happy Spring" sentiment. Both banners are included in the pop up die set. I also added another yellow butterfly.

A7 Flower Stand Pop up

The second pop up die set in our latest collection is called the "A7 Storefront Pop up" die set. This die allows you to create a fun A7 sized flower or coffee shop pop up card.
There will be add-ons for this set coming out in the future. It works well with some of our older products such as the "Neighborhood House Add-on" , the "Fairy House add-on", as well as the Slimline "Brick", "Woodgrain" and "Cobblestone" background dies.
To see how these cards are made, check out my video tutorial above.

This "A7 Storefront Pop up" die set is really fun because you can create two types of storefronts, an open store (where you can see inside), or a closed one that pops right out of the envelope.
This example features an open coffee shop. Meaning, I cut an opening for the window and door so you can peer inside the shop.
After die cutting my base pieces and roof, I decorated the entire shop with the "Slimline Brick Background" die. This added some really cool texture! Then, I glued all of my tiny details to bring this shop to life!
The roof was created by die cutting it once from kraft card stock and once from brown. I fussy cut 5 of the brown panels and glued them onto the kraft roof, offsetting the colors to create a fun pattern. I did this with all of my storefront cards.
I decorated the front of the store with various dies from the new "A7 Storefront Pop up" die set, and the "Coffee Shop Add-on" die set. As mentioned, I cut an opening behind my door and window so you can see inside.
In front of the window, I added some green stools to create a unique coffee bar. (I wanted this shop to have a Starbucks vibe) Inside the window, I added some lights a coffee machine, a tea pot, bottles, cupcakes and mugs all from the Coffee Shop Add-on die set.
I even decorated the sides and the back of the card. Of course, this is optional. The backside would be a perfect place to write your personal message.
The sides were decorated with more "Coffee Shop Add-on" dies. I created a cute bistro scene using the table and chairs. The shelf was made with a die included in the "A7 Storefront Pop up" die set. There's a lot of tiny details, but I think it just adds to the fun!
I kept the back simple with an A7 Gift card holder and a Starbucks gift card. This would make a perfect Birthday card for a coffee lover!

More Card Examples

Now that you've learned how to create your own pop up stands and shops, lets see some more inspiration! All of the cards I made just scream SPRING. I really enjoyed working with bright colors and adding tons of details to all of these cards!

The bottom tier of this slimline was decorated with a fence and grass strip. Both dies are already 3.5' wide, so it coordinates perfectly with the slimline pop up stand!

In front of the fence and grass, I added a bicycle from the "Flower Shop Add-on" die set. I also added a lemon tree that I paper pieced.

On the center tier, i added more grass and flowers from the "Garden Stand Flowers" and the "Flower Shop Add-on" die sets.

I accented the stand with some vellum windows. On the right window, I added a cat pawing at the flowers.

In the very back of the stand, I added a stamped sentiments from the new "Flower Shop" 6x6 stamp set.

As if this card doesn't scream flower stand enough, I decided to add a "Flowers" sign to the awning!

Here's the other variation you can create with the "A7 Storefront Pop up" die set. This one is completely closed, so you can't see inside. I used the "Flower Shop Add-on" to transform this storefront into a cute bright and colorful Florist.

By only decorating the outside of the shop, you can add the "Storefront Mechanism" to the bottom inside of the card. This allows your card to pop straight out of the envelope. I will have a video tutorial showcasing how it works on Friday (April 1st) for the Flower Shop inspiration blog and video hop!

For the card base, I used an embossed pink polka dot paper. I lined the bottom edge of both bases with grass and fences from the "Garden Stand Flowers" die set. On the front, I opted to only use the grass so I can add lots of flowers!

For the roof, I used two shades of yellow card stock. I also added a "Flowers" sign that I accented with pink gems.

The rest of my decorative shop elements were die cut with coordinating bright colors of card stock. I absolutely LOVE the color scheme!

The front of the card was accented with small plants/flowers from the new "Flower Shop Add-on" die set. The door and windows are from the original "A7 Storefront Pop up" die set. I also used a chalkboard from the new "Coffee Shop Add-on" die set. On it, I white heat embossed the sentiment "Hi", I think that added the cutest touch to the front of this card!

The sides of the shop were decorated with more tiny plants/flowers from the "Flower Shop Add-on" die set. The square window above is from the "Neighborhood House Add-on" die set. I think this is a great die set to use with the storefront pop up to create a generic house with, perfect for new home buyers!

I even went all out with the back of this card accenting it with a bicycle from the "Flower Shop Add-on" die set and a white heat embossed sentiment. This sentiment is from the "Fairy Girl" 4x4 stamp set.

Let's take a look at another coffee themed card! This one features our new "Coffee Shop" 6x6 stamp set. Again, I went with a Starbucks inspired color palette to create a cute coffee stand card.

The bottom and middle tier feature stamped and colored images from the "Coffee Shop" 6x6 stamp set. I also added some of the sentiments from the stamp set to fill in some of the open space. Behind the girl holding a cup of coffee, I added a brown fence from the "Garden Stand Flowers" die set. Can you tell that I love that fence?!

The girl standing behind the table is PERFECT to fit inside the stand. Behind her, I created some shelves of sweet treats and various cups/mugs. I used the "Slimline Brick Background" die to give the stand a more "hipster" coffee vibe

The windows were die cut from kraft card stock and backed with cream. I love that they can open and close. To the right window, I added a "Fresh Roasted Beans" chalk board sign, how cute is that?!

Pull out those scene building stamps for this adorable slimline pop up stand, imagine all the possibilities you can do with it! A pet stand, a market stand, even maybe a tiki hut?!

Here's another florist shop I created. The "Flower Shop Add-on" includes over 40 dies to create several different types of flower shops. I love that this one even has flowers INSIDE the shop window. It would also be cute to stamp your sentiment behind the door of the shop.

The base of the house was die cut with pale yellow card stock. The roof was created with two shades of turquoise card stock. Again, I added a sign to the roof that says "FLOWERS". Along the bottom edge of the entire store, I added more grass and fences from the "Garden Stand Flowers" die set.

The window adorning the sides of the store are from the "Neighborhood House Add-on" die set. Below each window, I added a flower box and several potted flowers. At this point, you might be thinking I'm crazy paper piecing all these tiny flowers LOL!

Unlike my last two shops, I left some space on the back of the card to write a personal message. On the bottom right hand corner, I added another paper pieced bike. You know me, I have to still decorate a little!
