Our Countdown to Christmas Collection is Here!

Hello and Happy Christmas in August! Today, we have another Scrappy Tails Craft's release that's chock-full of Holiday goodness with an array of new stamps, dies and hot foil plates! Our Countdown to Christmas collection is very traditional, so if you love creating classic, elegant Christmas cards, you're going to LOVE this new release!
Now this release is a bit different, we actually do not have a pop up die for this collection. However, there are several interactive die sets. This release focuses on add-on dies for our previous pop up die sets. If you've been wanting to try a Scrappy Tails pop up die set, this is a great time to find one! I represented every pop up die we have previously released, so you're sure to find one that fits you and your card making style!
I have been very busy that past week in the craft room, and I managed to create 16 gorgeous pop up card designs can you believe that!? Let's take a look...

Product Showcase Video

To see the full release and all of the new products and inspiration, check out my product showcase video!

Card One

As mentioned, all of our new products work well with our previous pop up die sets. Of course, I had to add these beautiful outline poinsettias inside a pop up vase card!
Time to pull out those specialty card stocks! Trust me, it's worth it!
I die cut the solid layer of the outline poinsettias from red card stock. I die cut the outline layers of the poinsettias from gold mirror card stock.
As a centerpiece, I created a layered ornament, which I cut from red glitter card stock and gold mirror card stock. I layered two of the same ornaments back to back, so you can see it when you rotate the vase.
To fill in open areas, I added some gold greenery, which I die cut from our new "Assorted Christmas Leaves" die set

Card Two

I had some left over patterned paper, so I decided to create a mini vase! These are a lot of fun to create, and they're super fast! Instead of using two die cut vase
panels, I only use one to create the mini vase.
This would also be the cutest Holiday place setting right?
The centerpiece features a beautiful berry branch from our new "Assorted Christmas Leaves" die set. I paired the branch with some small die cut berries which are included in the "A7 Garland Cover Plate" die set. You can substitute the tiny red paper berries for red gems or pearls!
To finish the vase off, I added some smaller berry branches and tied the vase with some rustic twine.

Card Three

We have several new add-on dies for our pop up shadow box book. All of my book cards today are A7 sized, I've been really drawn to larger sized cards lately!

The cover of this book was created with our "Old English Letters" hot foil plates. I foiled on dark red pattern paper and went with a matte gold foil to give it a more rustic look.

The outer decorative frame comes in the pop up shadow box book die set. I die cut it from the same dark red pattern paper.

The inside of this book is truly spectacular, I kept it fairly minimal with a layered Nativity die cut ornament in the center of my shadow box. The decorative corners are included in the A7 Fancy Oval and Corners Book Add-on die set.

Again, I cut several elements from specialty card stock. It really adds that festive touch to your Christmas cards.

Here's a close up of this stunning shadow box design. To keep the focus on the ornament, I decided to tuck in a few die cut pine needles and leaves, which I cut from gold mirror and kraft card stock. I think they helped to fill in the space and draw your eye in towards the ornament.

Card Four

The "Assorted Christmas Leaves" die set includes so many leaves that are the perfect accent on any card. Can you tell that they're my favorite dies from this release?!

This time, I cut them from silver mirror and white card stock. to add inside a slimline pop up box.

Along with the leaves, I added some stamped and copic colored cardinals from our "Cardinal Blessings" 6x6 stamp set.

The sentiment on the card comes from the "Merry Christmas Ornament" die set. I layered the Merry Christmas with two layers of heavy weight white card stock to help it pop  against the red background.

Card Five

Okay, so lets take a look at a completely different color scheme. I wanted to show the versatility of our dies by creating some Winter themed cards. This A7 pop up box features our "Outline Poinsettia" die set and our "Merry Christmas Ornament" die set.

Several elements were die cut from dark blue mirror card stock including the decorative panels adorning the outside of the box. The poinsettias were cut from white and light blue card stock. I offset the outlines and shadow layers to add some interest to my flowers and leaves.

Here's how the card folds flat, it fits inside an A7 sized envelope!

Card Six

After creating so many die cut cards, I then started playing around with our new hot foil plates. This book features our new "A7 Decorative Frame and Swirls" hot foil plates. I gold foiled directly on pattern paper. Look at that shine, I love the results!

I used the new "Christmas Sentiments" hot foil plates to gold foil on dark green card stock. Some of our hot foil plates come with coordinating dies, including this set. The coordinating dies are so helpful to avoid having to perfectly align all of your sentiments on your card panels!

The inside of my book features some more hot foiling to the left. I added another hot foil sentiment and a few more gold swirls.

The shadow box features some festive ornaments which I cut from various glitter papers and mirror card stock. to frame my ornaments, I added a dark green Garland Cover Plate die cut.

Instead of gluing the cover plate die cut on top of the shadow box, I tucked it inside the first layer of the box to add more dimension. I love how this turned out!

Card Seven

How about another slimline card? This time a shadow box! White, silver and green is one of my favorite color schemes for Christmas. For this card, I silver foiled all of my hot foil poinsettias and leaves on dark green card stock.

To go along with my silver poinsettias, I decided to add some ornaments hanging from the top of my card. These are included in the "A7 Garland Cover Plate" die set. That set has a great value given how many dies you get!

The sentiment on this card comes from the new "Layering Christmas Tree" 6x8 stamp set. I die cut the sentiment from a circle die, and created my own little ornament using the ornament accessories that come in the A7 Garland Cover Plate die set.

To frame my entire card, I added a thin silver frame around the entire card. I also added one more ornament to the back of the card.

Card Eight

Let's switch it up and focus on some other pop up add-on dies. This "German Christmas House" die set coordinates perfectly with our "Slimline Pop up Birdhouse" die set.

This set works great to create not only German style homes, but also festive American homes! This die set includes so many little detail dies to truly customize your pop up houses to fit your recipient.

Step it up and create interactive elements for your recipient! For my card, I added a sentiment behind the door and a cute Christmas tree behind the window.

You can always keep your cards simple and create a flat shaped card instead. I love how this card turned out as I am half German. Germany holds such a special place in my heart, so I knew I had to create this add-on!

Alright folks, that finishes off all of my card designs for part one.

I hope you all have fun shopping. Let me know what you think of all the new products in the comment section down below!
